Pet Feat: General Rajaxx, Moam – AQ25 (S)

Instance: The ruins of Ahn Qiraj (AQ25)
Boss: General Rajaxx
Who: Nordhbane of The Maelstrom (80)
Pet: Umtokk (80 Gorilla)

Description:
General Rajaxx isn’t too hard, but there are a few things that can kill you. Again, T5 is needed on this boss. What happens is that there will be several waves of mobs coming to attack you and a couple of friends that you meet up with. It is important that you don’t let them tank because you’ll want their dps, not to mention the extra bit of rep at the end ;D. This is a boss where it is vital to have a gorilla. Once you’ve micromanaged your pet to take aggro on all mobs, use Volley. This will keep the pets HP up (with T5), because mend pet alone might not suffice to keep him up when all mobs are hitting him.

Overall it isn’t a very hard fight, when General Rajaxx himself comes in the end, you will notice, or remember, that he does an ability that halves the current HP of everyone nearby and resets the aggro table. He also knocks back melee range, which means the gorilla will not be near enough to hit him. What I did here was to ignore the HP loss because he never does more than half your current damage. So if you have 30% damage he will take you to 15%, if you have 10%, he will only take you to 5%, and so on. The only important thing that you have to do is to avoid getting aggro at the aggro dump. Use Feign Death, Misdirection or just run away so that your pet can get back to him in time before he starts hitting on you.

There’s really never any big threats involved in this fight, just make sure you don’t panic when you get hit for 50% of your HP the first thing he does 😉

Instance: The ruins of Ahn Qiraj (AQ25)
Boss: Moam
Who: Nordhbane of The Maelstrom (80)
Pet: Umtokk (80 Gorilla)

Description:
Moam is really easy. The only things needed to know about him is that you should mana drain as often as possible and make sure your pet has -75% aoe damage. When the arcane familiars spawn next to him, just make the pet pick up the aggro and kill them. They are never any threat to your pet, they just stand there and look cute. But I guess if they start stacking up to 9 of them, it might start to drain your pets HP a bit. They are easy to kill though, so no worries.

Extra info about AQ25:
About some of the other bosses in here, the giant blob that you have to kite to his eggs, and kill the eggs when he’s on top of them… he’s way too hard to solo since you have to run and at the same time dps eggs. It’s also hard to always stay in front of him when you are the only thing that he can target in the encounter. He doesn’t target pets when running around. If you feign however he will target your pet, and he hits very hard in that phase.

The last boss has kind of the same problem, he does 300% extra damage when you haven’t used the “trap” thingies on him. I might give it a new try sometime, but I felt I wasn’t quite up to the challenge last night when I was drunk ^^ It is however possible to kill the trash, on the floor below him, they weren’t hard at all.

I never tried the wasp-like boss, but if I remember correctly he sacrifices people. That’s something that makes encounters extremely hard. His sacrifice puts you on his altar, and then there spawns a lot of mobs coming towards you. You have to kill the mobs before they reach you or you’re dead. I don’t think my pet has enough dps to do that, but I might give it a try in the future.

  1. As was reported in the last thread about my AQ feats, it’s actually 20 man, not 25 as I had written. Whoops =)
